Salvation
This remix might be one of the most epic remixes of 2009. Strip Steve takes you on a 303 filled voyage to a very smooth house breakdown that can make anyone feel amazing. This would be great to hear really late in the night at a club. Really good job by Strip Steve on this one!

Major Remixing
The boys have done it again. Major Lazer's Guns Don't Kill People...Lazers Do is making all kinds of noise throughout the music industry; getting the attention of not just blogs and scenesters, but serious recognition from important industry staples such as Rolling Stone magazine. One of the most exciting and excellent things that comes with a project like this is the remixes. New remixes are appearing everyday making them impossible to ignore. From artists who were lucky enough to find the song stems, and make their way on to a few blogs, all the way to some of the biggest remixers in the game. This is massive. I've found two remixes that I think are pretty special, and there are infinite more mixes that you can find all over the web.The first one I wanted to show you guys comes from Sticky K. After releasing a very well received EP on Switch's exclusive Dubsided label, Sticky K started getting some real attention. His latest venture is this remix of "Jump Up". The track is pretty out there, and I questioned it a little upon first listen, but the more I listen the more I like. A huge electro feel gives it a club vibe while the vocals and beat keeps the Jamaican feel that Major Lazer is meant to supply. Don't be surprised if you find yourself bobbing along.
Next is one from Boys Noize Rec. super kid Djedjotronic. Anything this man touches turns to fun bouncy electronic gold. With a serious departure from the original surf party feel of the track Djedjotronic turns this one in to a bouncier tune that is right on the edge of annoyingly repetitive with the Santigold loop. Despite that last bit this remix is definitely a must have.

Michael Jackson
Today was a very depressing today worldwide. Today the king of pop Michael Jackson was pronounced dead due to cardiac arrest. Many people can agree with me by saying that Michael Jackson died before his time and deserved much more time on this earth. His legacy will overshadow his controversial years prior to his death and his music will live on forever. Personally if it wasn't for MJ and The Beatles I would probably not be making music today. His physical presence might be gone but his music and his spirit will never leave.

Renaissance Man Interview!
Here is our latest interview with Scandinavian Renaissance Man. We blogged about them previously and we love them so much that we interviewed them! Enjoy.
How did you two meet?
By introducing ourselves followed by a handshake. This happened some years ago in an architectural office we used to work for.
How old were you guys when you first started making music?
Young-ish.
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
People who are not afraid to escape the labels the world around them is trying to apply to them or are innovating at the fringes of their genre. People from Dave Taylor via Trevor Jackson to Loco Dice. Hip hop's sampling mentality has definitely had a great impact on our production methods.
How would you describe your music?
Not-boring house
How did come up with the name Renaissance Man, are you guys Renaissance Men?
It was a jokingly insulting label for a lot of people around us so we were happy to adapt it for ourselves. Yes we consider ourselves polymaths most definitely
Were you guys brought up in a musical environment or was it something that was later adapted?
We've been singing and dancing all our lives.
Do you approach a remix differently than an original, if so how?
Not really. We always try to work towards a preconceived idea of the final result. Which doesn't mean that many happy accidents wouldn't happen along the way and the final result being something totally different.
What do you use to make your music and play live?
Loose moral for sampling, Logic and Ableton Live for producing, CDJ's for dj:ing.
When DJing do you guys look at the crowds reaction to the tracks you’re playing to know what to play next or do you play off your mood?
It's always a combination of both.
Is there any track that you guys can play anywhere and you know will always make the crowd go crazy?
Spraycan seems to be doing the trick.
Who is the coolest or most exciting person you've gotten to meet or play with so far?
Luckily the world of music is filled with exciting personas. It would be unfair to name only one although we met some quite eccentric French guys on our pickup from the airport in Berlin last week.
You guys just put out 2 EP's, one on Switch's Dubsided and the other on the Institubes’ sub label Sound Pellegrino. How does it feel have releases on too of the most innovative labels in electronic music right now?
We feel very lucky and it has brought us a lot of attention. It's nice to work with nice people.
What is happening for the rest of 2009 for Renaissance Man?
Lot of gigs including an Australian tour in December, new original releases towards the end of the year, remixing and a lot of stuff we still don't know about.
What is one thing you guys really want people to know about you?
Renaissance Man consists of two people
Can you name a few artists that you think everyone should keep an eye on?
We would rather keep them as secrets in our record bags for the time being. Sorry guys!

Guns Don't Kill People...Lazers Do!
So far I have been more than pleased with the albums that have been coming out this year. Shadow Dancer's Golden Traxe was their magnum opus containing some of the most interestingly composed tracks I have ever heard. Then Tiga's Ciao took the award for being one of the sexiest albums ever. Ciao is a very diverse record and really show's Tiga's diversity as a song writer. Of course the album is co-produced with The Dewaele Brothers, Gonzales, James Murphy, Jesper Dahlback, and Jori Hulkkonen. The next record I am looking forward to is by the most hyped up production team of 09, "Major Lazer." Major Lazer comprised of Diplo and Switch are set to release "Guns Don't Kill People...Lazers Do" on June 16th. This is going to be one of the most interesting records of all fucking time. With the album containing guests ranging from Santigold, Ms. Thing, T.O.K., Amanda Blank, and house producer Afrojack, we know this is going to be a diverse record. I recommend for everyone to rush to their local record stores or their favorite online retailers and they buy this album the second it comes out. This is going to be a hot one people!

We Love Giving Back!
Here at Fancy Sounds we receive 30+ E-mails a day of people sending us their tracks. I am happy to say that most of the tracks are actually pretty good! I wish I would be able to post all of them but I can't for many reasons. Mr. Stunt Bandit
It's been a little bit since we've heard anything from Bandit. He returns to our blog with a fresh take on a classic track. Mr. Oizo's "Stunt" embraces his repetitive and simplistic, yet genius style so well, but Bandit has changed it up to show his admiration for the original, but bring a new flavor as well. This short, simple track has been turned into an epic heart-pounder that would fit perfectly into any movie with a climactic chase scene.
