Daedelus
Working from a studio in Santa Monica, California. A young Daedelus began noodling bass clarinet notes, and soon graduated into the covenant of double-bass. After an ill-fated affair pondering classical and jazz, rave paved the way, and a burgeoning record collection fueled Daedelus’ artistic creativity, preparing the path to his first full length release, Invention. Inspired by ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘70s grooves, and defying genres such as downtempo and hip-hop, Daedelus gradually begins to venture into the L.A. afterdark. Daedelus recently was added to the Hard Haunted Mansion alongside such acts as Soulwax, Tiga, Crookers, Deadmau5 and many more. Deadelus put out his 10th album on July 15th through Ninja Tune. Be sure to catch him on tour with his mysterious magic music box. These are my two favorite songs from the new record.

The Prodigy
The Prodigy are an electronic music group formed by Liam Howlett in 1990, in Braintree, Essex, England. Along with The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method, and a few other lesser-known acts, they were pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre. They have sold over 16 million records worldwide which is unequaled in electronic music history. The first official album tours will begin in the UK in December with "The Invaders Academy Tour" and continue in January 2009 in Australia as part of the BIG DAY OUT Festival. The band has stated that the album is set to launch early February 2009. New Jake-Simon Remixes
If you missed our other post about Jake-Simon (not pictured above) he's one of our good friends and favorite up and coming electronic artists. Very young, but he's already doing some really awesome stuff. Now if you've been reading this blog for long at all you know how much we love Proxy, and Jake-Simon to give some love to Proxy by remixing his Dance in Dark. He tells us he was inspired to remix it after hearing the Hostage remix of it, and being unimpressed. That and his love for the original song of course. But anyway he took the song it did it justice. Great vocal chopping awesome beat, all that good stuff. The other remix we have here is Jake-Simon's remix for whiteface. Another very solid remix, this time of a not so familiar song, but still an awesome track. Back so soon Herve? Of Course you are. We love you here. This time he comes with a new mixtape he made for Mixmag, appropriately titled Herve's Party Bombs cause these are sure to make any party banging. Every song is straight fire. There's some older Herve and some newer and some stuff that isn't him, but everything's awesome. He's really one of the most talented guys out there at the moment, and I really don't think he's going anywhere. New Crookers
Here are the latest Crookers remixes, one from David Guetta's Pop Life album, and another from Wiley. I really like the David Guetta remix, I'll definitely give it a Most Fancied. I'm not so crazy about the remix of Wiley, but I'd suggest giving it a listen. I've been waiting so long for an all ages Crookers show in LA, and thanks to the Hard Halloween Fest I'll be seeing them. The lineup is great, so if you have no Halloween plans check it out! The Aston Shuffle For Everyone!
The Aston Shuffle are two Australian dudes who know how to make some good electronic music. They've been remixed by some of my favorite artists, remixed some of my favorite songs, and it all sounds great. For a while I had only heard remixes by them, but there originals are my favorite. They really have a great sound. Not so crazy that it'll give you a headache or anything, but not too soft either. I've only heard two other originals by them, both being just about as awesome as the one above this text. One's available for free from their myspace (not sure if that's limited time or anything so go get it now) and the other I have for you. It's another not too intense, but just right banger. I really love that about them. That they manage to keep their songs as exciting, captivating, and interesting as anyone, but don't make your head feel like its being put threw a blender.
Now, their remixes. They really know what they're doing. Good use of vocals, which is always important, and of course more of those good banging beats. These aren't all there remixes just the ones I enjoy most, and hope you will too. So if you just can't get enough of these guys like me head over to Hype Machine or Elbows and do what you gotta do.

Radiohead at the Hollywood Bowl - August 24th
Last night I saw Radiohead at the Hollywood Bowl. I've seen a bunch of bands live but this was the best live performance I've ever witnessed. Thom Yorke was amazing. My friend had invited me to come with her and she had very nice box seats so I got a great view. If you ever get the chance to see Radiohead take it, they are amazing. The sound was beautiful along with the light show they put on. I would post some of my favorite tracks for them but i know you can find them on iTunes, so if you don't have any of Radiohead's albums, go check them out. Also the two other contributers to Fancy Sounds will be at the show tonight, so I'll make sure we get some good pictures.

You Been Hit By, You Been Struck By, Telemitry
If you don't know Telemitry, he's soon to be the mastermind behind your favorite Coldplay, Bloc Party, and now Michael Jackson remix. His remixes, though there are only a handful so far, are consistently brilliant. He does not promise hard-hitting bass-lines or beautiful synths on every remix, but he certainly promises a new well crafted, well produced version of one of your favorite songs. This is his latest remix. This time he takes on Michael Jackson, and does him justice. It's not very fast or crazy, but it really does a great job giving the song an electronic touch while keeping the Michael Jackson-ness in it. Telemitry really does a great job on the production of his remixes. As far as I know he's been around only a couple months, but his stuff sounds a professional as anyone. Already can't wait for the next remix.

As I said, by the end of this post he will have your favorite Coldplay remix. That's cause of this little gem right here. There were plenty of Viva La Vida remixes, but I really only liked a few. And even out of the ones I did like this stood out. I feel like this is hardly a remix. It's more just what Coldplay would sound like if they took a little step in the direction of electro-pop. This was the first Telemitry remix I heard, and I knew right away this guy was good. Really good.

I also recently found two more remixes of his. There both pretty awesome, and cool. Really fun to listen too. His remixes always seem to get me tapping my foot or bobbing my head or something no matter what kind of mood I'm in. I can't wait to hear some original songs from Telemitry, which will hopefully come soon, but until then I hope he keeps popping out remixes like these every couple weeks.

Madlib - King of the Wig Flip LP
Madlib is one of my if not favorite underground Hip-Hop artists. He has incredible beat making skills and I love how all of his music sounds. I just woke up this nice Saturday morning and took a look at elbo.ws and saw a post about Madlib having a new LP coming out?? Finally, It's been 2 years since he's released a new album! So look for Madlib's new LP, King of the Wig Flip being released on BBE records. Here's a little Youtube promo they've put together for promoting the album. I don't know how T.I. did it, but he brought the the four biggest rap artists together to rap on the same track. A track samples a line from M.I.A.'s Paper Planes, which is also one of the biggest rap songs of this year. This is the All-Star game of Hip-Hop songs. Latest Bloody Beetroots
The Bloody Beetroots are some more guys that are ridiculously hard to keep up with. But I do my best, and what I have for you today is there latest stuff as far as I know.
First is there collaboration with Congorock, who are on A-Trak's Fools Gold label. I had heard of Congorock before, and started to take them seriously once I heard they were on Fools Gold, but then when i heard they were making a song with The Bloody Beetroots I had to start really paying attention. I only have a few originals from Congorock so far, but I'm sure more are on the way, and I know soon enough there'll be one that'll make me post about em again.
Next is The Bloody Beetroots remix of What What by Samwell. You may be saying uh.... Samwell? What What? It's the song from that YouTube video. If you haven;t seen it I linked it right to the vid, but that doesn't mean I encourage you to watch it. It's pretty dumb. But anyway The Bloody Beetroots remixed it, and it's good. They didn't use too much of those infamous vocals, but they would've had more people laughing then dancing if they did so it may have been a smart choice.
Last is my favorite of the three, but it's something that wouldn't be that new if to you if you're a big Bloody Beetroots fan. I mean it's already like a week or two old so I'm just way behind. This remix is a little different for The Bloody Beetroots. Same sound pretty much, but not quite as hardcore as usual for them. I really dig it. There's also a remix of it with vocals, but the vocals actually ruin this one for me a little just cause they did such a good job on the instrumental work, and the voice is kind of annoying and unnecessary.

Geyster is a duo formed by Gaël Benyamin and Pernilla Grönlund in 1999. Their first cooperation occured in 1998. At that time they both attended the M.I. (Musicians Institute) music school in Los Angeles. Together they founded their own band “The Kites”, where they explored different musical genres through Gaël’s compositions from pop-rock to funk and jazz and performed live in music clubs across Los Angeles. This Lifelike remix is a recharged disco house club banger like all lifelike remixes gets everyone in a good mood.

Hey Boy, Hey Girl (Soulwax Remix)
Hey sorry I haven't made a post for a few days, I've been in New York City and the internet was terribly slow. The minute I got home I came across a fairly new remix of Hey Boy, Hey Girl by Soulwax. YES! Both The Chemical Brothers and Soulwax, two of my favorite artists! This remix is great, I definitely recommend taking the time to download it. Destroy - Proxy [Most Fancied]
Proxy is a Russian electronic artist who's innovative raw bassy sound has been tearing up the blog-o-sphere for a while now. The song that's been most popular has been his song Raven which has been getting love from tons of other artists including Erol Alkan. Erol's been using it in his sets, and until now all you could find was a rip of Raven from one of his sets. Thankfully I found a good version with no cheering or other songs mixed in. This is the real thing.

Next is his song Dance in Dark where he shows more of that raw pounding bass. In this one he also shows off some sampling skills. This also got a remix from Hostage who I've been listening to a lot lately. This remix almost sounds like it could have come form Herve or Foamo, but instead it's Hostage who you may find to be just as good. I'm hoping I'll get around to posting more of his stuff really soon.
Dance in Dark - Proxy [Most Fancied]
Here are some more of his original work. It all uses a similar pounding bass-line with some wobbly electro sounds that work so well together. He using sampling again in some of 'em, and he does it well. All of these are top quality Russian electro, and I can't wait for his first album which I have heard does exist so hopefully that'll be out within the next year. There hasn't been an artist who's originals I've gotten so excited about maybe since Justice. Then again my memory has failed me before.
Now i know you're thinking this guy Proxy is amazing! He does such great stuff! He couldn't possibly do anything else! But oh boy, he does remixes. Yes he does. He hasn't done a whole ton of 'em, but enough to keep me happy. We already gave you a taste of his remixes in our Chromeo post, and were back with more.
First are his two remixes for Boys Noize, only one of which was actually on Oi Oi Oi Remixed. Although the Don't Believe the Hype remix wasn't on there don't ignore it. It's just as good if not better than the other Boys Noize remix. Both are really great, and you can tell that Proxy tried to really keep Boys Noize sound there while incorporating his own. And it works very well. I'd love to hear a collaboration from them, but hey if that never happens we've still got these.

Lastly is his remix for Moby of I Love to Move in Here. It's not quite as good as the Crookers remix, but Proxy still does his thing. t sounds almost like Proxy just took one of his originals and put it under the song, but it sounds really good. He used the original track well, but really kinda just took it apart, and almost made it his own track. It's very fun, and well made. He's also supposed to have some new remixes on the way, I believe one of Digitalism, which I'm excited for so I'll keep you guys updated on that.
Herve Update
Herve could easily be the busiest electronic producer there is. Everyday he cranks out something new. It's hard to keep up, but I'm here to give you the latest I've found.First is the newest song from his project with Sinden in which he takes the name The Count (formerly The Count of Monte Cristal). They should have an album out pretty much any day now, and even though you can find most of the songs just by searching the internet I still can't wait for it. The latest song features Baltimore rapper Rye Rye, and it's really great. Rap over their sound is really awesome. This is certainly one of the best songs they've released so far.

Next is Herve's collaboration with A-Trak and Cadence Weapon. I feel like A-Trak is just tracking down my favorite artists, and working with them after the song he did with Laidback Luke. But hey I love it. Keep it up A-Trak. Cadence Weapon does his thing on this track and Herve and A-Trak don't do a bad job giving him something to rap over. I really like the song, and if you're a fan of any of the people in this great collaboration I'm sure you'll enjoy the song.
The last thing I got for you isn't brand new or anything, but I think it's the latest remix you can find from The Count and Sinden. I'm sorry to all you who like Sam Sparro, and I don't mind his songs at all, but I just can't take his voice. Something about it I just can't dig. Luckily The Count and Sinden make it more than bearable. The use the vocals well, and give it their usual touch. For all you Sam Sparro fans or those who don't like him whether it's because of his voice or whatever you'll really like this.

Vaccination? Ammunition? Immunity? IMMUZIKATION!
If you ever check Hype Machines Most Popular section you may have noticed a month or so ago that a god 75% of it was ruled by Immuzikation. He does awesome Mash-ups and now a remix! Got this in our inbox a few minutes ago, and it's pretty awesome. It's not quite up to par with the Justice remix (the only other remix of this I like), but Immuzikation didn't have the a cappella, and all that good stuff. As you can see he's got an album called Probly Normal (the picture ^). I don't know if that'll be released officially or what's the deal with that, but you bet if I found out I'll let you readers know. VANDALISM
When it comes to bass heavy House and Electronic music, Vandalism gets my pick. They have put out remixes of some of the hottest dance floor hits. I posted some of my favorite remixes they've made, it was hard to narrow them down. The Airborne Toxic Event
Probably my favorite rock/alternative band of atleast the last few months, The Airborne Toxic Event, played a sold out show at the El Rey this Thursday and luckily I was there to see it. It was really an awesome show. There album just came out this Tuesday so it was a really special show. They are from Silverlake, California and have a really great sound. Every song is built on vocals from Mikel Jollett, and some wonderfully catchy guitar riffs. The entire album really amazes me. The L.A. Times called their music "Poetry you can dance too", and that sums it up pretty well. Mikel is really amazing. He used to be the editor of Paste Magazine, but when his mother died, his girlfriend broke up with him, and he got a terrible skin disease all in the same month or so, he decided to start writing songs to cope with all of it. This band is full of really smart and talented people, and there isn't a single song on the album I don't enjoy. There name is taken from the title of a chapter in the Don DeLillo book White Noise. You should really check em out.
LA Riots
LA Riots do some of the best remixes you'll ever hear. And they do a lot of em. They do some really great stuff, and they have a great live show, which I was lucky enough to catch. There latest is a remix of The Ting Tings "That's Not My Name". There have been a good amount of remixes for this, but to many I've cared for much. This one's different though. LA Riots do similar stuff on a lot of there remixes, but I'm not complaining. The have a really great sound. I've heard very little original stuff by them, but hopefully more will be comin soon. So I guess the long awaited Blueprint 3 from Jay-Z is now in production, and a Kanye produced track was just leaked. I havn't liked his stuff since the Black Album, but I think he'll go all out on this one, and we'll get to see his real talent again. From what i've heard it's not just this track that's being produced by Kanye, but most of it will have his touch on it, which is a good thing in my opinion. New Surkin
We got some more Surkin for you. This time it's his song White Knights Two being remixed by Laidback Luke. Laidback Luke's done as many remixes as anyone i can think of over the last year or so, but I guess I can't blame him he's damn good at 'em. This one's a real gem especially after what Surkin did to this song with Chromeo. That was very average if not below par for Surkin, but this was a good choice. Moons, Birds, and Monsters, Oh My!
Ignore the terrible title. This song is awesome. Kinda forgot it in the Most Fancied of the month, but that's ok. I've been lovin everything Amplive's been doing over the last few months, but this is by far my favorite of his. Everything's great on this song. Ace production from Amplive, and awesome raps from Mistah F.A.B. make this song impossible to resist.

Once together with his schoolmate Ian Pooley branded as "Wunderkind" of German Techno, Tonka has become THE disco house producer of the German music scene. While being commercially successful, Tonka managed to hold onto a unique style always identifying him as a fan of oldskool breakbeats and early Italian disco tracks.
