Radiates

Riton and Primary 1 have teamed up once again for another awesome track. Their first track "Who's There" created huge hype and was delivered with a magnificent remix package including Style of Eye, In Flagranti, L-Vis 1990, and Doorly. Their new track "Radiates" is yet another insanely hot track although I would recommend this one for home listening opposed to playing it in the club. This track comes with a Riton and Primary 1 Re-Rub and an amazing Joker Remix. Enjoy!

Best Of The Year

Rather than dwell on how sorry I am that we've abandoned our beloved blog for so long, I am going to attribute that abandonment to what is best called a shift in interests, and move on. We thought that the perfect way to get back in the game was to come back with a bang, a.k.a. a nice big end of the year, best of post. Unfortunately we didn't give ourselves too much time to make this idea a reality, so we don't have anything written about the music, but we would hope that our choices speak for themselves.

To start things off...

We've been quite lazy cats lately, and I speak for all of us here at F.S. that we apologize. Lets leave it at that, and I will leave you with this. Expect more posts. I love this track.

These New Remixes Of This New Technology

Midnight Juggernauts' first release lead to some of my all-time favorite remixes so it's no surprise that their new single would lead to some great stuff as well. With some great names on the package including Emperor Machine, The Juan Maclean, and Memory Tapes. I personally am feeling the ladder two much more so those are the two I have for you today. The first time I listened to the Memory Tapes remix I kind of went, "eh I guess this is interesting", and since then, listen by listen, my response has been progressively better. At this point I'm at the stage where I love it, and am probably completely overplaying it. It's a very diverse mix with so many ideas crammed in to a 5 minute space that it becomes mind numbingly brilliant in it's movement. Now The Juan Maclean remix definitely holds it's own. Great percussion work, vocal chops, and some great bass combine for 7 minutes of great disco flavored indie-electro.

Night By Night (Siriusmo Remix)

What can I say? It's pretty simple, at least for a Siriusmo remix, but of course nothing short of brilliant.

Bonus:

Sticky K Seems To Be Sticking Around

I just got the latest batch of remixes from Sticky K, and I see no reason to make you guys wait for these bangin' mixes so here we go. The first is a mix for an EP out on Scatterblog's still-fairly-new label. The EP is Scattermish and Mat Cant with their song "Hornbo". It's really dope EP with some great remixes, my favorite of which comes from Sticky K. If you are one of the people who liked the concept of Renaissance Man's "Spraycan", but thought it was just maybe a little bit to techy, this is for you. Same great air horn madness in an even crazier form. This one's just crazy.

Next is one of the 20-something (kidding) remixes that came with the "Put Your Hands On Me" single recently released by Crookers. I'm not a big fan of the original song, but Sticky K has definitely managed to turn it in to something that is more than pleasant to listen to. Another good one here.

Bonus: and a new one from the master…

(They Are) Champions

I'm always surprised to remember how much I like The Cool Kids. There's something about them that definitely reaches out past the average hip-hop bitches and cars rhymes over crappy beats. Maybe it's the same reason that makes them smart enough to do something like go and collaborate with fellow chicagoites (?) Hey Champ. Separately both artists are great, and it definitely shows major talent to be able to come together and create something this good. If you ever find yourself trying to create some classy electro-pop hip-hop, take this as an example.

Peanuts Club

Hey guys, I was so happy with the response I got with my trooper remix! I really appreciate the feedback. I just finished a remix of Noob & Brodinski's hit "Peanuts Club." It comes harder than my trooper remix. Let me know you guys think!

Black Noise Means Business

Black Noise, Hailing from the United Kingdom just dropped their second EP titled "EP2" as well as a remix of the Crookers track featuring Wiley titled Business Man. Black Noise certainly upped the track and added in one hell of a wobbling bassline. If you dig this remix I would definitely recommend you go check out their original tracks, as they all pretty much sound exactly like this. They are all pretty much back to back basslines with massive buildups and drops. The new EP dropped a little less than a week ago on Southern Fried Records and you can buy it on Beatport here. Because I haven't made a post in so long (due to the massive amounts of schoolwork I've had) I'll throw in Crookers remix as well as my favorite track off their new EP. Enjoy and I apologize for posting so rarely lately. I'll do my best to do it as much as possible from now on.

Lite Brite

I have to admit that I think Das Glow is one of my favorite producers of 2009. He has put out music on labels Institubes, Vulture, and Arcade Mode. He has remixed the likes of Shadow Dancer, The Micronauts, Douster, The Faint, and more. Today, Institubes released a remix EP dedicated to my favorite track of his, "Lite Brite." The EP features Strip Steve and Qebrus. Their is also a new Das Glow song on the EP I love. Go buy this EP now!!

Tracklist:

1. Lite Brite
2. Lite Brite (Strip Steve Remix)
3. Lite Brite (Qebrus Remix)
4. A Lighter Shade Of Bright

Heads Will Roll

I am sure you guys have been waiting for this one. A-Trak is back with his astounding Yeah Yeah Yeah's remix that has been getting attention from Tiga, Erol Alkan, and Annie Mac. I must say that this is his best work to date. A-Trak says he is done with remixes after this one to focus on productions. This makes me so excited to hear what he is working on.

ZOo00OOm

After listening to Hudson Mohawke's new album "Butter," I was quick to pick out my favorite songs. Their were a few that stood out but this track ZOo00OOm stood at the most. After hearing it the first time I was instantly hooked and could not stop listening.

Trooper

So by now I am sure many of you have heard Boys Noize's sophomore album "Power." I have to say it's nothing less than amazing. All the tracks stand out in their own original way and construct a very "powerful" album. I just finished up my remix for the track Trooper. I hop you guys like it!

Corporate Occult

Night Of The Hornheadz

A smile comes to my face every time I see that there is a new Act Yo Age or Sweat It Out release on it's way. I know it means some seriously fun beats, and catchy electro is to come. This latest release is really blowing all their past EP's out of the water too. The original features Drop The Lime, and comes with remixes from Acidkids, Bird Peterson, DCUP, and Sticky K. The original track is great, and for those of you who love Drop The Lime, but are unsure about Act Yo Age, go ahead and grab this one. Luca's presence is definitely felt all over this one. The heart of this release definitely comes from the remixes, however. Bird Peterson's remix is easily one of his strongest yet. Brilliant in it's destroying heaviness as well bouncy playfulness. I can't get enough of this one. DCUP really impressed me on this remix. Turn it up if you really want to feel that beautiful bouncy bass. Last but not least is the Acidkids remix. Another heavy hitter full of bass, and big beats. Every track here is worthy of multiple listens.

I seriously can't stop listening to the Bird Peterson remix.

Money For Nothing - Giants Remix (clip)

Russian dubstep trio "Giants" have remixed Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing". All I could get my hands on was a clip of the song, but I will be eagerly waiting for the full version. This song is heavy shit!

Green Eyed Love

I can say that I am beyond pleased with this remix. A clash of two of my current favorite artists couldn't have been any better. Easily a remix highlight of 09 so far. Please download this!!!

Midnight Juggernauts - This New Technology

Ooops!

A few weeks ago we posted about Hudson Mohawke, and the clip of his new album that was posted on the Warp site. Then this showed up in our inbox a few days later. I've sat on these long enough, and they're just too good to keep from you guys any longer. This site explains the whole story behind the tracks. I encourage you to check it out. Seriously.

I Need A Vacation (Preferably European)

Alright maybe summer did just end, but I'd still be fine with some more vacation time. On to the real point of this post... Linus Loves just released his next single through Beatport today. After the success of "Prom Night" it's no shock that people are getting excited about this new track. Perfectly titled "European Vacation", it will make you want to do nothing but relax and listen to Linus Loves' beautiful synth-house all day.

Linus' friend Burns also just gave us permission to let this little gem out of its purchase-only box. His Majesty Andre takes this one to a whole new level. The original is a fun house track with a good sample, and a nice beat to it, but when His Majesty Andre get his hands on it it was turned in to something else completely. This one is worthy of being in an old Daft Punk Essential Mix or something of the sort. This track is going to be on rotation for a while.

Black & Blue

Tiga's remix of Miike Snow's "Black & Blue" starts off with a loop of the words "I won't waste your time", and that is not a lie. It's been a long time since I have seen Tiga make a remix this good. He captures everything I love about his style together in to just 6 minutes and 21 seconds. At certain moments this remix embraces Tiga's disco style, then his love for minimal tech-house, and there's even room for some big bass to drop in there. Thanks to our friends over at RCRD LBL for hosting this one.

If that isn't enough for you we also have a remix by Caspa here. He does is usual thing on it. I'm definitely digging the piano break downs, and of course those lovely wobbles.

Joy Orbison - Hyph Mngo (Requested To Be Taken Down)

Gucci Vump

Sound Pellegrino has done it again. They have released another smokin' hot record. This time from mysterious Gucci Vump. Sound Pellegrino is on fire right now having put out records by Harvard Bass, Renaissance Man, Momma's Boy, and more. Their newest artist, Gucci Vump is a bit of a mystery. Their is wide speculation on who it could be. The rumors are that it could be Tiesto, Steve Angello, Brodinski, and even Fake Blood. We don't really need to know because the music speaks for itself. It is a bouncing techno masterpiece. The EP is out now on Beatport and I recommend you go buy this release. Remixes by L-Vis 1990 and Downtown who is one half of the duo Renaissance Man.

Death Suite (DJ Mehdi Edit)

I am basically just embarrassing myself with how little I've been posting lately, but school is ust killing me. Hopefully you can understand...

Anyway, DJ Mehdi's edit of Erol/BN's "Death Suite was just posted over at the Boys Noize Rec. official blog. I expect greatness from him, and he comes through. Great job on this one Mehdi. And if somehow any of you readers haven't heard the other track from this EP, "Waves", please go check it out. One of the best tracks of the year, easy.

This one is probably a few days past it's postable expiration date, but I like it so why not? I was glad to learn Fool's Gold would be on remix duty for Cudi's newest hit, but following came a few disappointing mixes along with one or two good ones. Here is the best one in my opinion. It's also the first time Sammy Bananas has really impressed me. Disco/pop/bass/80's synth works very well for this track.

I Love Techno

Last year Boys Noize gave us a proper serving of techno in his I love Techno mix but this year its the Crookers turn. Crookers hit the scene with their track "Love to Edit," their remix of "Day n' Night" by Kid Cudi and a slew of others. Lately they have haulted their output of music because they are working on their first full length album. Luckily they are delivering us with their I Love Techno Mix. I Love Techno will be held on October 24th in Ghent, Belgium.

Buttery Nips

Soon to be released on Warp Records, Hudson Mohawke's new album "Butter" is set for release on October 12th. The sampler - Butter Snips - I think is bangin. I am greatly looking forward to the release of the album and be sure to check out this little buttery snippet!

Teknique

This happens all the time. I get a new track from an artist I really like, and I get lazy. I figure I'll like the track, but not enough to post it so I set it aside and say I'll listen later. Half the time I forget to even listen, and half the time I'm right and don't care enough to post it. Sometimes however, I feel incredibly stupid because it turns out the track is amazing, and should've been posted the second I got it. So, sorry about that Burns, and hopefully I don't look too lame posting "Teknique" a few days later than everyone else. This track is bound to be a classic with Burns usual choppy, funky style as well as beautiful bass, and sharp piano to really make this track stand out. The full EP is now available on Beatport. What are you waiting for?

Burns - Teknique (ALT) [Most Fancied]

Both of these tracks are just a little too good to go by just as normal bonuses so I just wanted to make a point of letting you know that these are really worth checking out. Both are great.

Drone - Felix Cartal

Felix Cartal recently released his newest banger "Drone". This track is really something. To be completely frank i wasn't a big fan of some of his previous remixes, and although i do find this song a little repetitive, I can still see the forward progress from previous tracks Cartal put out. The breakdown is massive. This track is a banger!!!

Round 'Em Up

There's been a serious lack of posting going on lately so I thought I'd play a little catch up here, and kill a few birds with one post... or however the expression goes.

It took quite a few HypeM chart toppers before I really took Death To The Throne seriously, but I've realized he's definitely someone to watch. You can't really be considered a good remix until you've attempted to remix a Daft Punk classic (right?) so here is his take on "Technologic". It definitely doesn't focus on the original parts much, but definitely shows off his interesting style and takes the song in a completely different direction.

I really can't think of a single track involving Steed Lord that I ever really loved, except maybe the Jack Beat's remix of "It's What U Do 2 Me", but this latest remix of theirs has definitely won me over. I wouldn't even have given it a listen if I didn't see FutureFlash's name on it, but I'm glad I did. Very nice remix.

I was thrilled to receive two great new track from NROTB the other day. One being an original and the other, a remix of Amanda Blank's "Might Like You Better". The original track, "Droplet", is great, but MUST be listened to very very loud or else it will sound quite boring. The second track is my favorite track of theirs yet. It's an excellent remix that I can imagine being played be pretty much anyone anywhere, and would definitely have the dancefloor moving.

Last, but not least is the Jesse Jamz remix of Flosstradamus' single, "Big Bills". I imagine this remix being played in more of an intimate club setting where everyone is jumping in to one another's personal space, and sweating all over each other. I'm definitely digging this one.

Mr Hudson's White Lie As Told By Rusko

Mr Hudson's first full length release (as Mr Hudson & The Library) gained him tons of attention. It got him a remix from The Count & Sinden, but probably most importantly it got some serious notice from Kanye West who later signed Mr Hudson to his label G.O.O.D. Music. Mr Hudson's second release will be out soon, and with any good release these days comes some good remixes. The easiest way to make sure that your remix package gets some serious props is to throw on a Rusko remix. Mr Hudson was smart enough to do that, and I bet he's happy with his choice right now because the remix turned out great. It's not the greatest remix he's ever done, and the drop isn't quite as destroying as some of his have been, but it would certainly get a dancefloor moving. Overall it's a very well made remix that I would love to hear at a festival or in any club setting.

Deathface is Different

If you haven't already heard, Johnny Love formerly known as one of the masterminds behind the duo Guns N Bombs (RIP) has lately been putting out new tracks under the name Deathface. I really like the stuff he's been releasing which are mostly songs with heavy basslines and insane drops. Check out his latest remix, this time of the track Stay the Same by autoKratz.

Flying Lotus - L.A. EP 3 X 3

The final installment of Flying Lotus's Los Angeles EP Series just dropped a few days ago on WARP Records. The EP has seven tracks, some which are originals and others remixes by friends. The EP feels much more ambient than any of the others did, while it lacks the psychedelic synth lines and wild drum beats. L.A. EP 3 X 3 sounds as if Flying Lotus wanted to create a much more minimalist sound than usual, to perhaps show the beauty that can come out of his music. Maybe this minimalist sound will start showing up in some of his upcoming work. Flying Lotus has killed it again. He did a great job completing his Los Angeles EP Series, the EP really lives up to the others. Make sure to show some love and grab a copy of the EP, out on WARP Records now!

Tracklist:

A1. Infinitum (Dimlite's Re-finitum)
A2. Comet - MatthewDavid
A3. Endless White
B2. Spin Cycles
B3. Testament (Breakage's Bill's Suit Mix)
B4. Auntie's Harp (Rebekah Raff Remix)

I'm Not Your Toy

A little late on the find but I still think its worth the post. The recent Jack Beats remix of La Roux's "I'm Not Your Toy" is hard to even put into words. Jack Beats has really been a site to see lately and this track just helps prove my point. Be sure to check out this track!

Floatin'

Definitely a little late on this one. I guess I've just been letting myself enjoy summer a little too much. NORE (of Bounce fame) released a new single featuring that man on the moon that we know as Kid Cudi, and while that original track itself probably doesn't interest most of you there are some remixes here that should keep you more than happy. Both Felix Cartal and Bird Peterson drop their usual club bombs that start off slow, but only until the build up to a body destroying bass drop. I'd probably go for the Felix Cartal remix if I had to choose, but both are nice.

Bulletproof

Let's just say if this had been the original I would be a much bigger La Roux fan...

Lapse has also recently done a nice remix of the track as well as adding his touch to Felix Da Housecat's smash single "We All Wanna Be Prince". Two very tasty little remixes.

Make Her Say Afrojack

Fool's Gold Blog:

A few weeks ago, Fool’s Gold was asked to commission remixes for Kid Cudi’s latest single “Make Her Say.” Well, broskis - the results were pretty damn banging!

Details on the full batch of mixes (and where / when we’ll be leaking them) to follow, meanwhile dig into this awesome, instantly playable remix by Afrojack, who’s Dutch house bangers (and some major co-productions) are currently lighting up DJ sets worldwide.
The one thing that can ruin a remix of a rap song for me quicker than anything else is if the remixer doesn't use the vocals well. Although Afrojack doesn't do the best job on that front there is something I really enjoy about his latest remix of Kid Cudi's chart-topper "Make Her Say". Perhaps its the incredibly strong production on the track or the fact that its so all over the place it feels like 4 different songs put in to one. I'm not sure, but it's made me a fan of the track despite the fact that I feel like I almost shouldn't be. The first minute feels like it could easily be another Crookers remix of Cudi, but by the end you will certainly know who Afrojack is, and that he's not playing around.

Mightyfools Are Living The Life

Mightyfools, who just finished their Australian tour just recently released the "Living the Life EP" on BMKLTSCH RCRDS. The EP which includes two original tracks by Mightyfools as well as remixes by Nobody Beats the Drum, GTRONIC and Boemklatsch, is nothing but banger after banger. I linked Living the Life which was my favorite track on the EP, but make sure to go pick up a copy of the EP at beatport or itunes to check out the others. I recommend taking a listen to the Boemklatsch and GTRONIC remix of Living the Life, i liked those the most of the three. Also as a little bonus check out the L-Vis 1990 remix of Who's There? by Riton and Primary 1.
